Energize and Purify Your Skin with a Refreshing Herbal Blend
Self-made body butter, like all cosmetics that you make yourself at home, will have the composition chosen and approved by you without any “chemicals” in it.
Why body butter?
You can use body butter instead of a lotion. It does not contain water, therefore has a thicker consistency and contains more valuable ingredients than body lotion. It also creates a kind of film that stays on the skin longer than a lotion, and protects and nourishes the skin. Body butter is great for dry and flaky skin. After using the butter, the skin becomes smooth, moisturized, and taut. For best results, use a body scrub in the bath/shower to remove dead skin, then moisturize using your home-made body butter.
What are we going to make body butter of?
Body butter contains several basic ingredients such as vegetable butter (shea, cocoa, etc. – preferably unrefined), coconut oil, unrefined vegetable oils, essential oils (optional), beeswax (not necessarily, but without it, your butter may separate), which you can freely modify, and you can choose your favorites. The most important thing is to keep the correct proportions of butter, oils, essential oils, and beeswax.
I will give you an example of the composition from which I made my butter but remember that you can freely replace the ingredients with those that suit you.
If you are prone to allergies, do not use essential oils. They are very concentrated and can cause allergies. However, if you decide to use them, try placing 1-2 drops on the inside of your wrist and wait half an hour to check for redness and/or itching.
